Dennis Wong — The Wongman

Dennis Wong (a.k.a. The Wongman) is a Calgary, AB (Canada) based seasoned investor specializing in public equity markets and real estate investing. Dennis is also a Value Investing educator and coach who empowers individuals to master the investing strategies and methodology of Warren Buffett, guiding them towards achieving personal financial goals, financial security, and freedom.
Prior to his investing career, Dennis was a registered professional engineer with a robust background in the energy technology sector. He has held key positions as an engineer and management executive at several multi-national companies — General Electric, Rockwell Automation, and Alstom Grid — contributing to innovative advancements in the electric power infrastructure industry.
Dennis is also a successful entrepreneur, co-founding a Calgary-based technology firm that developed cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for major electric power utilities worldwide. His company was acquired by a French engineering conglomerate, further validating its impact on power and energy security and management.
As the next chapter, Dennis founded BNW Investments Ltd. and Bowmont Capital Partners, with which he contributes to technologies, economic and social advancements through investing in both equity markets and multifamily real estate. With his risk-averse engineering background, his experience and insights from both his corporate career and as a start-up entrepreneur, Dennis achieved exceptional returns in both equity and real estate investments.
Through his Bowmont Wealth Academy, Dennis champions the cause of financial literacy and investing education. He offers comprehensive online training and coaching programs in Value Investing and regularly conducts workshops, to empower everyday people in creating wealth by following Warren Buffett's investing philosophy.
Beyond his business and professional endeavors, Dennis is an avid cyclist, a triathlete, and a motorsports enthusiast. He is deeply involved in community work. Dennis is a founding member and co-captain of the One Aim Cycling Team, which has raised $3 million for the Alberta Cancer Foundation since 2010, supporting research and development in cancer diagnostics and treatment technologies. He also actively supports organizations like the Alberta and BC Children's Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Calgary Police Youth Foundation through various community initiatives and events.
Dennis shares valuable insights on investing, mindset, and personal development through his social media channels and the free "Value Investing" Facebook Group, which welcomes participants from all backgrounds.
